Outdoor skatepark in Haagse Beemden
For the third time, Nine Yards created a skate park in Breda. This time, we collaborated with MINT Urban Design in Haagse Beemden, a neighborhood that truly deserved a new skate park, with a focus on the community and the environment.
The request from township Breda
The old skate park was hardly used, partly due to its reputation and outdated skate equipment. It was time for a new skate park, not just a place to skate, but a place where everyone would feel safe and welcome. Together with MINT Urban Design, we designed a new skate landscape that also serves as a city park.
The realization by Nine Yards
Together with MINT Urban Design, we designed objects with recreational functions. A city park with skate features for local skaters and benches for visitors. With attention to the region, a beautifully landscaped green environment, and details like the granite tile pattern. By involving the local skater in this process, the end result is widely accepted. The township and residents are happy with the arrival of this multifunctional skate park in the neighborhood.
